Giovanni Pernice, 31, got Strictly Come Dancing fans talking after responding to Rose Ayling-Ellis, 27, New Year Instagram post. The former dance couple wowed viewers during last year’s series with their chemistry on the dance floor.

Last Saturday, Rose shared a candid Instagram post featuring the highlights of her year.

The EastEnders actress included some celebratory moments with Giovanni after the pair won Strictly’s Glitterball Trophy.

In view of her 533,000 followers, Rose captioned the post: “‘Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.’

“That definitely what 2021 did for me, the year of growth, discovery and surprises.
