Gigi De Lana has put up some of her personal items up for auction to raise funds for the medical expenses of her mom, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.
The singer, who is currently on a two-month break to treat the nodules on her throat, auctioned off two of the crop tops she wore in her viral performance videos, as shown on her Facebook page on Monday, June 19.
“Bid for a cause and get a chance to own Gigi’s iconic crop tops, as seen on the viral videos. These items will be framed and personally signed plus a chance to meet Gigi De Lana and The Gigi Vibes,” it said, referring to the singer’s band. “All bids go directly to her mom’s medical fund.”
The clothing pieces have fetched P70,ooo each as of this writing.
“May mga bagay na mahirap i-let go pero kailangan. May sentimental value itong mga damit na ito, pero mayroong mas importanteng bagay sa ngayon,” she said in the caption. “Salamat sa mga nakabili na, at gustong tumulong sa amin to raise funds for my mom’s medical expenses.”
(There are things we must let go even if it’s hard for us. These items have sentimental value but there are more important things to prioritize now. Thank you to those who already bought some of the items and to those who have been helping us to raise funds for my mom’s medical expenses.)
In a separate post, De Lana addressed those who apparently made fun of her auction while thanking her fans who came to her defense.
Aside from clothes, De Lana is also selling her luxury bag and her pre-loved high-end hair multi-styler.
De Lana made public her mom’s condition earlier this year after she cut her hair short to show support for her mom who has been undergoing chemotherapy.
In May, the singer and her bandmates figured in a road accident in La Union because their driver had fallen asleep. Fortunately, she did not sustain severe injuries.
De Lana started her singing career as a finalist in “Tawag ng Tanghalan” in 2016. /ra
