Ghost Rider and Carnage’s New Marvel Series Raise Holy Hell in Next Week’s Releases

2022 marks a significant anniversary for both Ghost Rider and Carnage, and Marvel’s “Year of Vengeance” blasts off next week with Ghost Rider #1.

Marvel Comics unleashes fiery vengeance and Carnage in the upcoming week’s releases.

Leading the inferno is writer Benjamin Percy and artist Cory Smith’s Ghost Rider #1, the next solo title to star Johnny Blaze and the Spirit of Vengeance within him. The new series rides onto shelves in time for the antihero’s 50th Anniversary, being that he first appeared in Marvel Spotlight #5 in 1972 and has gone on to become a fan-favorite and earn both film and television adaptations. For this reason, Marvel has declared 2022 “The Year of Vengeance,” but there is another celebration this year as well.

Following the events of Extreme Carnage last summer, this year, there’s also going to be more Carnage, specifically Carnage Forever #1 on Wednesday. While Ghost Rider is turning 50, Carnage is celebrating his 30th Anniversary after appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #359 back in 1992. After the one-shot issue next week, the murderous symbiote will headline its own solo title written by Ram V. and illustrated by Francesco Manna. Ram V. is currently contributing to Venom as well alongside writer Al Ewing, which has been exploring the journeys of Eddie Brock and his son, Dylan, as both the King in Black and Venom, respectively.

Of course, there are still more titles hitting store shelves and digital platforms on Wednesday, including the likes of The Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man, Silk and others. The full list of releases can be found alphabetically below, covers and solicitations included.
