NEW DELHI: Atishi, Delhi Education Minister, stated on April 10, 2023, that new postgraduate courses in bioinformatics and cyber security at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) will enable students to acquire new-age skills. These courses will be offered from the 2023-24 session onwards.
The education minister emphasized that the university is committed to providing top-quality education and exposure to the latest trends and practices in different fields, and the new courses will assist students in achieving their academic and professional objectives.
During a meeting with university officials, Atishi discussed the new courses. As per the statement, the bioinformatics course is designed to provide students with expertise in data analysis, biological data management, and computer programming. Meanwhile, the cyber security course intends to equip students with the knowledge and abilities to detect and prevent cyber threats and attacks.
The Delhi government has stated that this move is intended to provide students with greater exposure and to enhance the university’s academic offerings. The decision to introduce these courses is in line with the university’s strategy of introducing new courses each year to keep up with industrial demands. The university added graduate and postgraduate courses in design and an MBA in analytics last year.
