Get the best sleep of your life in these duvets made for warmer nights
There’s nothing quite like a toasty winter duvet on cold nights, but with summer almost here you might be ready to make the switch to something cooler.
Down duvets may be all anyone talks about in winter, but there are actually lightweight and breathable versions for warmer nights – or if you’re just generally a hot sleeper.
With a little research (this little duvet comparison tool on Canadian Down & Feather Company’s website may be a godsend for the uninitiated) you’ll see duvets come in different weights and the lower the weight the cooler the duvet is, with the ‘summer’ weight being the coolest.
Those are generally perfect for hot sleepers or when the room temperature is 22C or higher.
A regular weight option, meanwhile, works well for room temperatures of around 19-21 degrees, or if you’re fairly warm when you sleep.
Down is a fantastic insulator, which is great in winter, but due to claims it’s more effective per ounce than any other fill material, you should need less of it, making the duvet lighter in summer versions.
To do the hard work for you, though, we’ve rounded up our picks of the bunch should you be in the market for a new, more summer-friendly duvet.
