Gerrit Cole shares sweet family snap with wife Amy before Yankees Opening Day
Gerrit Cole is counting down to Opening Day in The Bronx.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the Yankees ace posted a collection of photos from spring training, including a sweet snap of wife Amy and their two young sons, Caden and Everett, hanging out by the dugout in Tampa, Fla.
“Another spring in the books,” the 32-year-old Cole captioned the post.
Cole will get the start Thursday when the Yankees open the 2023 season at home against the Giants.
The game will be something of a family affair for Cole as his brother-in-law, Brandon Crawford, is San Francisco’s Opening Day shortstop.
Thursday will also mark Cole’s fourth Opening Day start for the Yankees, who have won two of the first three.
He signed a monster nine-year, $324 million contract with the team in 2019 following two seasons with the Astros.
The Yankees reached the ALCS last season and were swept by the Astros in four games.
Houston went on to win the World Series after defeating the Phillies in Game 6.
Despite a disappointing finish to the 2022 season, the Coles had much to celebrate in early 2023.
In January, Amy confirmed that she and Cole had welcomed their second child, son Everett.
“The newest love of our lives,” Amy gushed on Instagram, where she revealed his Jan. 2 birth date.

Days after Everett’s birth, Amy posted an adorable video of her and Cole’s eldest son, 2-year-old Caden, doting on his baby brother.
Amy confirmed her second pregnancy in September during Yankees Family Day.
“Our littlest Cole is sliding into our home soon! Due at the ball drop,” she shared at the time.
The Coles have been married since 2016.
