Genshin Impact Raiden Kokomi Rerun Characters: Who Should You Pull?

Genshin Impact revealed the 4-star characters and weapons for the Raiden Shogun and Sangonomiya Kokomi banner reruns, here are some tips on whether you should pull or not.

Genshin Impact is currently in its Version 2.5, which after adding the popular Yae Miko as a playable character, is now about to launch banner reruns for Raiden and Kokomi on March 9. Their signature weapons are coming back as well. Now, Genshin developer Cognosphere has revealed the 4-star characters on the banners a week early, seeing that’s when they usually get leaked.

Who should you pull between Raiden and Kokomi in the Genshin Impact 2.5 banner rerun?

First off, it’s important to take a look at the 4-star characters of the banners. We have Bennett, Sara and Xinyan. If you don’t have Bennett yet this might be the perfect occasion to get him and start using Vaporize combos. If you already have Bennett, remember, do not activate his C6.

However, if you don’t want either Raiden or Kokomi, I don’t recommend pulling on their banners only for Bennett. It’s much wiser to wait for a banner with both the 4-star character and the 5-star character you actually want. Do not “build pity” for a future banner, that’s one of the stupidest mistakes you can make with Genshin‘s banner system. You WILL end up pulling a 5-star you didn’t want and loose the pity. Don’t take that risk.

Should you pull on the Raiden Shogun (Ei) banner rerun?

The Raiden Shogun is a mix between support and burst DPS. She can deal a lot of continuous Electro DMG with her Elemental Skill, and massive damage, in a few seconds, with her Elemental Burst. Raiden has a peculiar Burst in how it makes her switch weapons to a sword, so the amount of damage you deal during that time is dependent on your skill and how fast you can hit enemies with the sword.

Raiden can get interrupted or launched by certain enemies during her Burst too. So it’s best to trigger it after putting up a shield like Zhongli’s. Raiden is good to go with if you need another Electro character, and if you already have Zhongli.

What about Constellations?

I doubt anyone reading this ever goes for Constellations, not even C1, when puling 5-star characters; But if you’re a whale, really into Ei, and can afford to swipe, then getting her up to C2 at least makes her much stronger with the Ignore DEF effect added to Musou no Hitotachi.

Should you pull on the Kokomi banner rerun?

Sangonomiya Kokomi is the best healer in Genshin Impact, and it’s likely she will keep that crown for years to come. It all depends on whether you actually need a healer or not though. Personally speaking, I believe Genshin Impact‘s strengths lies in its exploration and story. Meanwhile, the combat system is so easy (barring Abyss Floor 12) and lacks variety (it’s all about DPS checks) to the point I don’t see the need for healers.

Kokomi can be very useful however for some floors of the Abyss, and for farming certain Artifact Domains like the Crimson Witch one. Kokomi has been heavily buffed since release too with the Ocean-Hued Clam Artifact set. Remember that whenever a new character gets released and you’re unsure of their usefulness, you can be certain an Artifact Set or something added to the gameplay will buff them. That’s how Genshin Impact and most gacha games work.

Should you pull the weapon banner for Engulfing Lightning or Everlasting Moonglow?

Engulfing Lightning and Everlasting Moonglow are respectively the “signature” weapons of Raiden and Kokomi. It means they greatly enhance their capabilities and were specifically made for them. However, I generally do not recommend pulling on weapon banners unless you’re a dolphin or whale player. It’ll always be better for F2P players to focus on 4-star weapons instead, like The Catch for Raiden. Unless if you’re truly in love with the character and willing to skip several future banners just to get the perfect weapon for them.
