Genius WhatsApp trick will help you never lose a message again
A WHATSAPP hack is giving users the chance to reverse course after accidentally deleting a message.
A message on its way to the scrubber can be retrieved – as long as users act quickly.
Deleting a Whatsapp message can be a costly mistake – losing instructions from a boss, deleting a coveted phone number and other calamities are at stake.
Fortunately, there’s a way to undo a clumsy error.
The trick hinges on chats backing up to the iCloud or Google Drive.
Trusted Reviews tested the hack on an iPhone 13 Pro and Realme 9 5G – but noted the trick should work on iOS or Android models of any kind.
The first step to recovering a mistakenly deleted message is to uninstall Whatsapp.
Do not manually backup your chats before deleting that app.
Go to the iPhone App Store or Google Play Store and reinstall Whatsapp.
When setting up the app, Whatsapp will ask the user to restore the app from its latest back up – click yes and instruct the app to restore from the previous backup.
The app will reload with all of your messages, including the one accidentally binned.
To pull the trick off, you need to uninstall the app before it backs up with the text you’re aiming to rescue already in the trash.
Whatsapp backs up daily, weekly or monthly.
Owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, Whatsapp is a useful tool for communicating between iPhone and Android devices.
There are over 100 billion Whatsapp messages sent per day, and surely a few are deleted or sent by accident – a clever hack can undo the damage.
