Elon Musk has continued his public opposition to gender-transition measures being performed on minors, stating in a tweet that “’gender-affirming care for minors’ is pure evil”. The comment was made by the business magnate in response to a tweet from Jordan Peterson, who stated that the “phrase ‘gender-affirming’ care is a criminally evil lie”.
Surgeries, cross-sex hormones, and puberty blockers are some of the measures the term refers to.
In a tweet last week Musk suggested he plans on campaigning to “criminalize” permanent gender-transition measures being performed on kids before the age of consent.
The former Twitter CEO stated: “This is a major problem. I will be actively lobbying to criminalize making severe, irreversible changes to children below the age of consent. Shame on those who advocate this! It is utterly contemptible.”
Musk said in a tweet in April that he believes “we should wait until an individual is mature enough to make their own decisions before other adults make permanent, serious physical changes to them.”

On Sunday, in response to a Twitter account called The Rabbit Hole that had tweeted: “’Gender Affirming Care’ is in the best of cases a euphemism for a paid yes-man to continually affirm delusions and in the worst of cases a euphemism for putting children on horrible drugs or outright child mutilation”, Musk wrote: “It means castration”.
Musk said that he would use people’s preferred pronouns as it is “good manners”, The Blaze reports.
He tweeted: “I should note that I do personally use someone’s preferred pronouns, just as I use someone’s preferred name, simply from the standpoint of good manners”.
