Geek’s Sky TV hack instantly upgrades your remote control – activate it now
YOU already know that your Sky TV remote controls your Sky box, but did you know it can control your television, too?
In addition to changing channels and browsing Sky’s catalogue of content, your zapper can switch your box on and off and even change the volume.
Connecting the two takes a quick few button presses and saves you needing to use two remotes to watch shows and movies.
The trick was highlighted in a video from TikTok tech guru @wadesramsey.
In the clip posted in January, they highlighted how to hook your Sky TV remote up to your telly if it’s become disconnected.
This can happen for a number of reasons, for instance, if you’ve changed the batteries or purchased a new television.

It leaves you unable to switch your TV on and off or change the volume of what you’re watching using your Sky remote.
Wadesramsey, who goes by Wades online, shared a workaround with their 26,000 TikTok followers.
To resolve the problem, simply hold down the one and three buttons on your remote while pointing it at your Sky box.
This opens the remote control setup menu. Hit continue and then enter the brand of your TV.
Select the brand of TV that you are using.
From here, you can either plug in the model number manually or have your Sky box figure it out for you.
Your box will then ask you to hit the volume controls on your remote to check whether the connection has been successful.
Hit volume up or volume down. If that changes the volume bar on your TV, then press Yes.
If you have a surround sound system, you can set that up in the next menu. If not, ignore this menu and press Finish.
Voila, your Sky remote should now control your telly, saving you a bit of time whenever you’re sitting down to watch something.
