GATE 2024 correction window open till Nov 11; Here’s what you can modify – Times of India

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has opened the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 application modification window.
Candidates will be able to make changes to their applications till November 11, 2023.
Candidates who had previously registered for the exam, can edit and correct any discrepancy that might have crept in during their application filling process.
Follow the steps given below to make corrections in your application
Step 1: Visit the official website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in
Step 2: Locate and click on the GOAPS portal link on the homepage.
Step 3: Sign in using your email ID and password.
Step 4: Choose the “edit application form” link.
Step 5: Identify the details that require modification and make the necessary adjustments.
Step 6: Click the submit button once you’re done.
Step 7: Save the updated form and print a copy for future reference.
For completing the correction process, candidates will be required to pay a charge depending on the fields they’re making a change to.
In order to modify information such as your name, date of birth, examination city, paper category, or gender, a fee of Rs.500 is mandatory. For changes involving a switch from female to any other category, or a category change from SC or ST to another, the fee is Rs.1,400.
Here is a complete list of items that can be changed in the correction window
1. Gender

  • Male to Female: Status can be changed, but fees will not be refunded
  • Female to Male: Candidates will be required to pay the difference amount

2. Category

  • SC/ ST to Gen/ OBC: Candidates will have to pay the difference amount.
  • Gen/ OBC to SC/ ST: Candidates will be able to change the status, but there will be no fee refund

3. PwD Status

  • No to Yes: Candidates will be able to change their status, but will not get the fee refund (Scribe status to be captured)
  • Yes to No: With fees as applicable
  • Dyslexia and other similar learning disabilities: Candidates can change the status, but with valid proof

4. Dyslexia and other similar learning disabilities

  • No to Yes: Candidates can correct the status, but with valid proof
  • Yes to No: Candidates can correct the status

5. Details of Parents/ Guardian/ Correspondence Address

  • According to the document submitted in the application

6. College Name and Location, Roll No, Registration No

  • According to the document submitted in the application

7. Exam Paper
