Instead, BBC Two will air it’s anticipated coverage of the First Night of the Proms.

Clive Myrie is expected to front the broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall as the classical music festival is launched.

Speaking on her own ITV show, Lorraine exclaimed: “It’s outrageous Gardeners’ World isn’t on tonight because of The Proms, but it’s back next Friday.”

Adam quickly replied: “It’s back next week and his lordship is back next week after a couple of weeks off.”

Earlier in the interview, he candidly opened up on his mental health and how the pandemic affected his love of the outdoors.

The BBC anchor, 53, told how gardening had lost its appeal and felt like a chore when he was “not very well” during the coronavirus pandemic.

He told the host how he was diagnosed with “burn out and depression” after he isolated in a room in his home.

Talking of his “tough” time in the pandemic, he said: “At that time I was disconnected with everything – so the garden just looked like a list of jobs.

“So I was doing 50-year-old bloke, ‘I’m alright Jack, I haven’t got a problem.'”

He added: “It was really weird because the garden at the time wasn’t doing what it should do for me.”

This comes after The One Show has also been cancelled in the huge shake up.

With Wimbledon and First Night of the Proms dominating the line-up on BBC One and Two, there isn’t any room for the magazine programme, which usually airs at 7pm.

At the end of Thursday’s episode, presenter Alex Jones, 46, made the surprise announcement but didn’t give a reason why – which is sure to have left fans confused.
