‘Gang’s All Here’ Podcast Episode 105: Reacting to Jets’ Ugly Loss to Ravens feat. Wayne Chrebet

It’s only Week 1, but it’s difficult for Jets fans to not have the three words cross their mind after the brutal showing against the Ravens:
Same. Old. Jets.
Gang Green entered this season with hope for improvement and an abundance of young talent on the roster. While there were some promising signs from the defense, the offense looked atrocious, mustering just one garbage time touchdown. Joe Flacco did not look good and also didn’t have much time to throw behind a banged-up offensive line.
Things will have to improve as the Jets head to Cleveland Sunday, or this could shape up to be another long season.
To talk about the 24-9 loss at a quiet MetLife Stadium on Sunday, we bring you a new episode of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast with Brian Costello and me. I also spoke with Jets (and Hofstra) legend Wayne Chrebet after the game.
‘Gang’s All Here’ Podcast with Jake Brown & Brian Costello
- BRUTAL LOSS: That was a hard one to watch. The few times the Jets moved the ball, they turned it over in big spots. The offensive line did not protect Flacco much at all. They need to develop some continuity without Duane Brown for the first month of the season. Flacco underthrew guys and receivers did not get open against a strong Ravens defense.
- TIGHT ENDS: Where were the tight ends? Why was hardly anything draw up for them? C.J. Uzomah was not targeted once and was barely on the field in the second half. Tyler Conklin had four catches, but few yards. The Jets have to get their tight ends more involved.
- DEFENSE: D.J. Reed and Sauce Gardner played well. LaMarcus Joyner struggled and had a big pass interference penalty that hurt them. The front seven was strong against the rush and stopped Lamar Jackson from running. There were some positives to take from the defense.

Former Jets WR
- CURRENT JETS: Zach Wilson is the franchise QB. Believes in him. Likes the young receiving corps. Braxton Berrios reminds him a bit of him.
- HIS TIME WITH JETS: Would love to have number retired one day.
