Gaming Events in July 2023: Check Out Details of All Upcoming Gaming Showcases Here

The Summer of Gaming may have wrapped up as we now gear up for July, but it’s not going to be the end of announcements and showcases from the gaming industry. July too has a couple of gaming showcases lined up, starting with the Xbox ID showcase on Tuesday, 11th July. Here’s the complete list.

ID@Xbox Showcase: July 11, 2023

Xbox ID Showcase will bring trailers, announcements, and gameplay of upcoming indie games on July 11th. Additionally, it will also kick off ID@Xbox’s annual Summer Game Demo Fest, making available playable demos of many of these games for Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One. These demos can be downloaded and played starting July 11, till July 17.

IGN has also been announced as the official streaming partner of the showcase. Therefore, you can tune in to IGN.com or any of IGN’s social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, YouTube, etc to enjoy the showcase. ID@Xbox Showcase will go live on July 11, at10:30 pm IST.

Limited Run Games Showcase: July 12, 2023

Limited Run Games is known for releasing physical versions of old digital and retro games. According to their latest announcement, they will be organising a showcase on July 12th, 4 pm EST (July 13th, 1:30 am IST), for over 20 new digital and physical releases to be revealed soon. You can watch the showcase on the official YouTube and Twitch channels of Limited Run Games.

BitSummit Let’s Go!!: July 14-16, 2023

The 3 day long celebration of indie games will bring previews of over 90 titles from across the globe. The official announcement says, “These include a mix of award-winning, critically-acclaimed games alongside soon-to-be-discovered gems.” While the show will take place in person in Kyoto with tickets now available, the showcase will also be livestreamed online via the official YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Bahamut channels of BitSummit from 6:30 am to 1:30 pm IST on all three days.

Games for Change 2023: July 14-21, 2023

Games for Change is a non-profit organisation that aspires to impact the world by driving social development through video games. Games for Change will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year, with a week-long event starting July 14 to July 21st.

The first three days of the show will pave opportunities for researchers and XR creators to network and connect with each other. Games and SDG Summit will be held on July 17, at the United Nations Headquarters for leaders across the industries. The Games for Change Festival will be held on 18th and 19th July at The Times Center & Microsoft Times Square in NYC featuring a “diverse line-up of speakers representing the past, present, and future of games”.

The Games for Change Awards Ceremony will be held on July 19th, celebrating the year’s “most stand out projects, people, and organizations making a meaningful difference”. XR for Change Summit will be held on July 20, followed by the Next-Gen Summit on July 21st. Tickets are available at the official website of Games for Change.

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC)- 20-23 July 2023

While some of the big names like Marvel and Netflix are rumored to be giving the San Diego Comic Con a miss this year, the Gaming Creator Connection will be back this year on July 23rd. Aspiring game creators will have a chance to hear from the best about their insights on the videogame industry. This is an in-person event to be taking place at Marina Ballroom D at the Marriott Marquis.

Indie Live Expo Summer Spotlight: July 31

Indie Live Expo, which usually takes place twice a year, will be debuting its Summer Spotlight this year on July 31st. Once again, it’ll draw the spotlights on the indie developers and publishers from across the world who will showcase their announcements. The Summer Spotlight will include Indie Waves, as well as dedicated deep dives on select titles. The showcase is expected to be livestreamed on the official YouTube channel of Indie Live Expo, much like the May edition of Indie Live Expo 2023.
