Gamers rush to refund The Last of Us on PC – here’s how to get your money back

THE Last of Us remake had a difficult launch on PC.

Players were reporting bugs that made the game almost unplayable.

Several players reported the camera stuttering even while standing still, and it can take an incredibly long time to load.

Some people even reported it taking several hours to build shaders and the game crashing every few minutes.

While the PS5 version launched last year, the PC port of The Last of Us was delayed by three weeks to ensure it was “in the best shape possible.”

However, it appears to have missed the mark, and now many players are demanding a refund.

Usually Steam only offers refunds if you have played a game for less than two hours, and it is less than two weeks since you purchased it.

This is so customers don’t purchase games, complete them quickly, and then ask for a refund.

However, as many players had the game open in order for it to load, their playtime is often far longer than two hours.

While they have an extended playtime on their account, this was mostly waiting around to play, or reloading after a crash, rather than actively engaging.

Because of this Steam has extended its offer so that you can refund your purchase no matter how long you have played.

This is a good-faith gesture based on how many players complained about the quality of the game.

To get your refund, all you need to do is visit Steam Help and select the game you wish to refund.

If you own The Last of Us Part I, it should automatically appear in your list of potential refunds.

The PS5 version of the game has no major known issues and so is not eligible for a refund.
