Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias survives frightening plane crash: ‘Happy to be alive’

Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias says he’s “happy to be alive” after his private jet skidded off a runway and into a grass field Friday in North Carolina.

“Emergency landing!!! Our private jet skid off the runway and wound up in a field in Andrews, N. Carolina. Everyone is ok but shaken up. Happy to be alive. I love u all,” the 46-year-old comedian captioned an Instagram video of the plane and emergency crews on the ground at the Western Carolina Regional Airport.

TMZ reported there were six passengers, two pilots and two chihuahuas on board.

Responders from Valleytown Fire and Rescue reported no injuries from the incident, which is described in a Cherokee County E-911 Communications report obtained by The Post as a “plane crash.”

The Cherokee County Office of the Sheriff said local emergency officials responded to a report of a 1987 Gulfstream running off the end of a runway at Western Carolina Regional Airport at approximately 12:59 p.m. Friday.

The aircraft “had difficulty coming to stop for an undetermined reason and slid approximately 600 feet off the end of the runway,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement to The Post on Friday.

“The local area had been experiencing heavy rain during the morning. One of the passengers of the aircraft was popular national comedian Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias, who has documented his experience on his Instagram page.”

Iglesias also posted a screenshot of a TMZ report on the incident to Instagram, writing: “Thank u to the pilots who did what they had to do to get us on the ground safely. This could have been so bad. Grateful I live to see another day and YES I will be flying tomorrow … just not on this jet.”

He has a comedy show at 9 p.m. Friday at the Harrah’s Cherokee Event Center in Cherokee, NC, as part of his “Don’t Worry Be Fluffy” tour.

The Post has contacted reps for Iglesias and the airport for comment.

The National Transportation Safety Board told The Post that it doesn’t have any information to report from the incident at this time.
