Gabby Logan says old romance with married man made her a better parent
Gabby Logan has said having a relationship with a married man in her teens has made her a better parent today. The 49-year-old opens up on “family, love, loss, determination, devastating lows and the highest of highs” in her first book released this week.
The presenter shares 17-year-old twins Reuben and Lois with her long-term husband Kenny.
Many years before meeting her spouse, Gabby was in a relationship with a married Olympian ten years her senior.
Reflecting on that period in her life, she said it’s helped understand her children’s love lives.
She explained: “When you have teenagers, it’s useful to remind yourself about your teenage years.

“My kids are going through their first relationships and falling in and out of love.
“When you’re an older person, it’s really easy to trivialise that. Then you remember how bereft [you were] and how it would literally immobilise you on your bed for a day,” she added to Radio Times Magazine.
Gabby embarked on the relationship a year after losing her brother Daniel.
In May 1992, Daniel, who was 15 at the time, died suddenly at home in Yorkshire during a kickabout in the garden.
Gabby began writing her book at the start of lockdown when, like many, work had dried up due to restrictions.
It comes as she celebrates 30 years in broadcasting this year and ahead of her big 50th.
The presenter first gained an interest in football through her dad, former Welsh international footballer and manager, Terry Logan.
She made her debut TV appearance was when she was chosen as the Leeds Rose of Tralee competition in 1991.
Five years later, she was offered a job as a presenter on Sky Sports.
She has since gone on to present many events, most recently the London Marathon for the BBC.
As well as presenting on television, she also hosts her podcast titled The Mid•Point.
