The British TV host and former gymnast, 48, is one of the BBC’s stars of its presenting line-up for its coverage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The Games, which were delayed from last year due to COVID-19, kicked off last week and are taking place through to August. Gabby is joined for the coverage by fellow sports presenters Clare Balding, Hazel Irvine and others, while former athletes, including cyclist Chris Hoy and heptathlete, Jessica Ennis-Hill, have also come onboard as pundits.
Gabby has already drawn attention during the Games after she got involved in a Twitter row with Piers Morgan.
She and her fellow ‘Match of the Day’ host Gary Lineker sparred with Piers, the former Good Morning Britain presenter, after he suggested people were not interested in the Olympics.
Piers tweeted: “Nobody cares about these Covid-ravaged Olympics.
“I feel incredibly sorry for all the athletes still trying to live their Olympic dream, but that is the harsh reality. And the great champions like Adam Peaty know it.”
The pair hit back at Piers, with Gabby saying: “I think you are wrong Piers. I think some people do care.”
With more than 400,000 followers, Gabby has a large audience on Twitter and has previously used to the platform to air her views on contentious topics, including Brexit.
In August 2018 she wrote: “Like a lot of us I am desperate for facts and clarity.
“As a mum and as a citizen I’m getting more and more worried about the way Brexit is going.

Months after Gabby sent her tweet, the campaign organised a march on central London, which the organisers claimed was attended by 700,000 people.
However, ultimately the campaign was unsuccessful in its bid for another EU referendum and the People’s Vote group was dissolved.
Ahead of the Olympics, Gabby shared her views on the Games with Good Housekeeping magazine.
Speaking in a joint interview, along with her fellow presenters Clare Balding and Alex Scott, she addressed how COVID-19 had affected this year’s event.
She said: “We’ll be presenting from Salford this year, using a green screen to look like Tokyo!
“It’ll be tough from a concentration point of view… but we’ll do our best to create a great atmosphere.”
Gabby is married to Kenny Logan, a former rugby union player for Scotland and is the daughter of former Wales football manager Terry Yorath.
She travelled to the Auckland Commonwealth Games in 1990 but injured her back and later developed the nerve condition sciatica.
In the run-up to the Games Gabby released pictures of her doing the splits and holding her leg above her head, showing that she still maintains some of her gymnastics prowess.
