Furious Glazer protests to kick off at Man Utd megastore on Tuesday

Manchester United fans are planning a protest against the Glazers at the club’s megastore on Tuesday, according to reports. The Americans confirmed back in November they were open to selling the club. Nearly eight months on, however, and there’s still been no clarity over what they’ll decide to do.

According to the Daily Mail, a group of United fans are planning a protest against the Glazers at the club’s megastore.

The 1958 group, who have organised similar stunts in the past, will be at the Old Trafford shop on Tuesday morning.

Their anger is boiling over, with the Glazers yet to indicate what they’ll do with the club.

Sheikh Jassim, according to widespread reports, now seems to be the frontrunner with the Qatari billionaire making five bids for the club so far.

Yet Sir Jim Ratcliffe also can’t be ruled out, with the INEOS chief making three offers of his own.

The Glazers have been loathed figures at the club ever since their own takeover all the way back in 2005.

They’ve taken out more money than they’ve invested, with the report saying they’ve ‘drained more than £1billion’ during their time in charge.

The family originally set a deadline of the end of April as they examine their options behind the scenes.

Two months on, however, and everybody associated with the club remain in the dark.

The 1958 group plan to protest outside United’s megastore on a day where their home shirt for the 2023/2014 season will be shown off to the world.

The takeover situation is casting a cloud as Erik ten Hag seeks backing in this summer’s transfer window.

He’s eager to add to his squad, especially with the club’s rivals already strengthening.

But the Glazers are reluctant to splash the cash until they can all agree on what their intentions are.

United have had three bids for Mason Mount turned down so far, with Chelsea making negotiations tricky.

Moises Caicedo has emerged as a target, yet it’s hard to see the midfielder moving given his huge £80million price tag.

United have declined to comment on reports of a protest at their megastore.

Yet they’ve previously said they recognise the right of supporters to make their feelings known.

United legend Gary Neville has ripped into the Glazers again as the situation continues to rumble on, with the Red Devils icon saying: “I don’t mind, I genuinely don’t.

“I’d like the Glazers to leave in full, even now with how they’re dealing with the sale process, which means it’s ultimately dragged out.

“They can’t make a decision and there are other examples of that.

“They can’t deal with things that are difficult. Hopefully we can have a full exit, but with the Ratcliffe bid, it looks like a part exit with two of them staying [Joel and Avram].

“I don’t like the idea of that.

“If that bid comes forward and is successful, which is the talk, I’d like to think there’s a fixed exit for the Glazer brothers organised in let’s say, two years, so we know they’re leaving.

“Ratcliffe comes in and brings in another investor to take them out.”

The Glazers are unlikely to respond to this latest development, having kept a low profile during their 18 years in power.
