From rivals to partners: ABS-CBN opens streaming platform to GMA

MANILA  -ABS-CBN Corp. and GMA Network Inc. continue to strengthen their alliance with a recent partnership enabling Gozon-led group’s content to be aired on Lopez-owned company’s online streaming platform.

In a disclosure on Wednesday, the media giants announced that GMA’s international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV, along with some of its on-demand programs, would be aired on ABS-CBN’s iWantTFC beginning May 1.

Such content will be available to iWantTFC viewers in select countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Middle East and North America, Europe and South Pacific/Caribbean Islands.

GMA Pinoy TV, launched in 2005, is GMA Network’s flagship international channel for entertainment content and news programming. GMA Life TV airs programs related to lifestyle, travel, food, health and beauty, among others, while GMA News TV delivers news reports.

TFC, ABS-CBN’s global flagship product, is a 24-hour programming service that airs general entertainment, news and feature programs via cable, direct-to-home satellite, online platform iWantTFC, mobile applications and over-the-top media streaming channels. It distributes content in over 200 countries across the US, Canada, Middle East, Europe, Australia and Asia.

“GMA Network remains true to our vision of enriching the lives of Filipinos with superior entertainment and the responsible, unbiased and timely delivery of accurate news and information,” said Ronaldo Mastrili, GMA Network senior vice president for finance and information and communications technology.
