Freshworks confirms CTO Shanmugam Krishnasamy quits after 11 years with company

Customer relationship management services provider Freshworks on Wednesday said co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) Shanmugam Krishnasamy quit the company in September.

Krishnasamy, who has decided to take a career break after 11 years with the Nasdaq-listed firm, has handed his responsibilities to chief product officer (CPO) Prakash Ramamurthy who leads both product and engineering teams, a company spokesperson told ET.

“I’m super proud of what we accomplished together and can’t wait to see what his brilliant mind does next. Our Product and Platform business units have their own architects who carry forward Shan’s legacy as we scale Freshworks to greater heights,” founder and CEO Girish Mathrubootham said on Twitter.

Krishnasamy decided to take a break and drive across India, Mathrubootham added.

The development was first reported by YourStory on Wednesday.

Separately, the company on Tuesday announced the addition of three new senior vice presidents to its go-to-market (GTM) leadership team to capture demand for its software solutions serving customer support, information and technology, marketing and sales teams.
