Frenkie de Jong ‘clears out’ Barcelona locker amid Man Utd transfer interest
Frenkie de Jong has already emptied his locker at Barcelona’s training ground ahead of his move to Manchester United, according to reports.
United remain in talks with the Catalan giants as they eye up a move for the Netherlands international this summer. Erik ten Hag is keen to reunite with his former Ajax star, having identified De Jong as an ideal target for his new side.
Negotiations haven’t been without their complications though, with the two sides still a fair distance apart in their respective valuations. Barcelona though have hinted they would be willing to part ways with De Jong, with the club facing financial difficulties.

And, according to reports in Spain, De Jong could be edging closer to a move to Old Trafford. AS suggest the 25-year-old has cleared his belongings from Barca’s Ciutat Esportiva training ground after Ten Hag managed to turn his head.
The midfielder has been adamant up to now that he wants to stay at the Nou Camp beyond this summer. With talks reportedly set to intensify though, De Jong could be a step closer to becoming a United player.
Elsewhere, the Reds are being linked with a move for Adrien Rabiot, with reports in Italy suggesting United are ‘serious’ about landing the Juventus midfielder. They’re not the only side being touted for his services though.
Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) suggest Rabiot is one of the players Juventus are willing to let go of this summer as they look to raise funds for a rebuilding of their squad. The 27-year-old though is not under pressure to move on, and would still be a regular starter were he to stay in Turin.
Nevertheless, the report claims United are one of the sides to have shown an interest, with Rabiot available for around €15m-€20m. Chelsea and Newcastle have also been touted as possible destinations, while Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be in the mix.
