Fortnite weekly challenges: How use the Kinetic Blade and grind a rail

FORTNITE Chapter 4 Season 2 is finally here, and with it a new round of weekly challenges.

This set of challenges are officially called Week 0 and are mostly about familiarising yourself with the new features of the season.

You will earn 12k XP for each challenge you complete this season, and when combined with the Kickstart challenges, you can level up your Battle Pass quickly.

Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite’s Chapter 4 Season 2 Week 0 challenges.

Discover three named locations near Mega City

Mega City is at the centre of the new biome in this season’s map, and it is surrounded by some stunning areas.

There are three locations you need to visit in order to complete this one, and you can mark them on your map by selecting this challenge in the menu.

Once you have visited each one, it will automatically be marked as discovered.

Head straight to these once you land for an easy 12k XP.

Activate three Augments in a single match

Reality Augments were added in last season, and they’ll be sticking around this month.

In fact, there are more Augments than ever before, but as always, you have to wait for them to charge.

You can see how each one is progressing by looking at its progress on the side of your screen.

A button prompt will pop up with its time to activate them, but it can take some time for three to be active, so try to stay alive.

Restore 100 health or gain shields while on a grind rail

Unlike Augments, grind rails are new this season, and can help you travel long distances fast.

While on a rail you can use items or weapons, which is how you can complete this challenge.

Once you have a number of shield and/or healing items, then you are ready to grind.

Mega City is a hotspot for grind rails, so this is a great spot to jump on and start using your items.

Deal 750 damage opponents with the Havoc Pump Shotgun

The Havoc Pump Shotgun is a new fast-firing, high-damage shotgun, added this season.

Its main downside is that it’s extremely short-range, so you will have to make sure you get in close before attacking.

This shotgun can be found anywhere that you find loot, so just keep looking until you find one.

Knock back 3 players with the Kinetic Blade

Just like the Havoc Pump Shotgun, the Kinetic Blade is a new weapon that has been added this season.

It’s very powerful, but is difficult to use in a range-focused game, so be careful.

It comes with a dash attack, which can be used by holding the aim button when you are using it.

Hit the standard attack button to knock players back, but it might take a few tries before you do it right.
