Fortnite Gets Fortnitemares 2021 Halloween Event
Epic Games has revealed details about the Fortnite’s Halloween-themed event, Fortnitemares 2021. The event brings some iconic monsters to Fortnite and runs until November 1.
Fortnitemares 2021 adds several Halloween-themed outfits that can be purchased from the in-game store. Fortnite will tease upcoming costumes using cards that reveal legendary monsters and other characters. After each Item Shop debut, cards will be updated on this page. One of these cards seems to be a reference to Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead, but this hasn’t been confirmed by Epic Games yet. Fortnite has also introduced the Dual Fiend Hunters.

Epic has already added Universal Pictures-inspired Frankenstein’s Monster and The Mummy in the Fortnite Item Shop as part of the Universal Monsters Set. The Mummy will also be added as a Fortnite character later this month. Along with these, the community-inspired Boxy and Boxer outfits are available in the Item Shop, with the alternate Spectral styles. Players can also check out Halloween-themed maps, games, and experience created by the Fortnite community, which are featured in the Fortnitemares section of the playlist menu.
The Cubes are working on the next step of their plan and players will have to stop them with a new weapon from The Sideways and some “returning Halloween tricks.” Epic is also teasing a special retuning limited-time mode.
Fortnitemares 2021 will conclude with Fortnite’s third Short Nite film festival called Shortnitemares. The festival will feature horror shorts and it will take place in a creator-made movie theater by Quantum Builds. Each short will have its own theater room and players will be able to choose the order of shorts or watch them all in a loop. Epic Games will share more details about Shortnitemares in the coming weeks.
