Fortnite downtime today: How long are Fortnite servers down with update 17.30?
UPDATE: Fortnite server downtime is starting now and is scheduled to last up to four hours across PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile platforms.
The good news is that maintenance usually doesn’t last this long but gamers will want to keep an eye on the latest news shared via the Epic Games social media accounts.
ORIGINAL: Fortnite update 17.30 is launching today, and Epic Games has dropped the usual announcement before shutting down servers.
This week’s Season 7 patch will be larger in scope than July’s 17.21 update, with the development team keeping their teasers to themselves.
Instead of telling gamers what to expect, today’s Fortnite changes are kept a bit more secret.
However, data miners have shared that some interesting new weapon features are coming to the game, which will change how you can use the Grab-Itron item.
The one hint Epic Games has shared this week reads: “A ‘UFO in your hands’? The latest Alien gear has IO Guards scrambling to nail down every wall, car, rock, and even shrub.”
This could mean that the Grabber will be able to grab things and throw them, as well as being able to rotate through a selection of items.
The Grab-Itron will reportedly be available from Supply Drops, Floor and Chest Loots, as well as The Mothership Legendary Chest.
WHEN IS FORTNITE DOWNTIME FOR UPDATE 17.21 STARTING?
The Fortnite server downtime scheduled for today has been set to start at 6:30am BST on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
For gamers in the United States, this will mean maintenance starting at 01:30am EDT on the same day.
No one should be left waiting for the servers to come back as all platforms will return online at the same time.
And while Epic Games has not provided an exact time servers will be back online, they have confirmed how long it could last.
A message from Epic Games reads: “Ensuring that fans around the world can catch the Rift Tour, the experience spans five showtimes over three days.
“We recommend fans arrive in Fortnite 60 minutes before showtime, and the Rift Tour Playlist should be live 30 minutes before each show. Before Ariana’s arrival, the Rift Tour kicks off with Fortnite-themed experiences — pairing popular tracks with moments based on elements from the game.
“The Rift Tour is better if you travel side by side with your friends! Visit RiftTour.com for more details on the Rift Tour schedule, or use the in-game Rift Tour tab.
“The Rift Tour tab allows you and your friends to schedule the showtimes you plan to attend, as well as keep up-to-speed on the latest Rift Tour Quests.”
There are also reports that the new musical event will be followed by another in August, with a new Suicide Squad tie-in being planned for the coming weeks.
