What Is The New Fortnite Countdown For?
The countdown that has started appearing in your Fortnite lobby screen is for the Chapter 2 Finale Live Event, which is set to take place on December 4th, 2021 at 1PM PT / 4PM ET / 9PM GMT.
According to the official Epic Games website, the live event is titled ‘The End’ and is a one-time-only event, so you’ll need to jump in at the time mentioned above if you don’t want to miss it.
During the event, players will fight to bring down The Cube Queen once and for all. Following on from the event, downtime is expected to begin to prepare for the beginning of Chapter 3 Season 1.

When Is Fortnite Chapter 3?
We know that the Chapter 2 Finale will take place on Saturday, December 4th, 2021, but when will Chapter 3 Season 1 finally begin? Well, an official release date hasn’t been announced by Epic Games, but it’s likely that the new Chapter will begin on Monday, December 6th.
Normally, Fortnite seasons and updates usually arrive on a Tuesday, but we think it’s unlikely for the game to be down for 3 whole days. But nevertheless, expect Chapter 3 to begin a day or two after the live event.
