The Toshkhana case refers to Imran Khan buying gifts, including expensive Graff wristwatch which he had received as the premier at a discounted price. He had purchased this from the state depository called Toshkhana.

However, an accountability court has sent Imran Khan on 8-day physical remand to the National Accountability Bureau in the Al-Qadir Trust case, reports Pakistan media. The NAB’s plea has sought 14-day remand of the PTI chairman.

It has to be noted that the hearings of both cases were held at the Islamabad Police Lines.

On the other hand, the authorities in Pakistan have arrested over 1,000 for violence which broke out on Tuesday evening following the arrest of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Police teams arrested 945 law breakers and miscreants from across the province,” AFP quoted officials as saying.

The officials have claimed that adding 130 officers and officials were injured in the violence.

Protesters at several places turned violent and burned police vehicles and damaged public property. For the first time, Khan’s supporters smashed the main gate of the army’s sprawling headquarters in Rawalpindi, where troops exercised restraint. The protesters chanted slogans against the establishment, according to a report in PTI.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army will be deployed in Pakistan’s Punjab to maintain law and order after Imran Khan’s arrest yesterday.

“The exact numbers of troops/assets, date and area of deployment will be worked out by the provincial government in consultation with the MO Dte, GHQ,” Dawan cited a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior.
