Retired nurse Carolynne proved to be a relatable queen after declaring she would give up everything for a ‘night in with George Clooney’.

Paddy McGuinness’ brand-new adventure show follows 12 Strangers giving up luxuries to endure a gruelling 18-day trek challenge in South Africa, in a bid to reach a £300k shared prize.

The official synopsis reads: ‘To take home the prize money, all they need to do is resist their desires for comfort. It’s the ultimate test of character which could see the prize pot in jeopardy. With the basics of rations and equipment every day, the group will face incredible temptations that have been built to test their restraint.

‘However, every temptation comes with the world’s highest prices. If one person decides to feed their desire, they are stealing from the overall prize pot, and will reduce the amount of money that everyone will take home.

‘Will they be able to sustain from temptation for a taxi to the next stop, a massage and hot shower, or a five-star bed for the night? And if the stranded strangers do surrender to temptation will they come clean with their teammates? Will they suffer the tough terrain and trek to save the prize pot money or will they choose teammates over temptation?’

In a clip shared exclusively with Metro.co.uk, contestant Carolynne, 65, says: ‘I don’t know what you could offer me that I would give into.’

Elsewhere, graphic designer Lani Good warned: ‘People don’t see me coming so they always count me out.

‘And when their back is turned, I just take the crown.’

As for host Paddy’s other notable role on Top Gear, the show will not resume filming the latest series following its investigation into the accident that injured presenter Freddie Flintoff.

Their statement added that the corporation ‘will continue to support’ Freddie ‘with his recovery’.

It also said: ‘Under the circumstances, we feel it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34 of Top Gear at this time.’

Tempting Fortune airs tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
