Former EastEnders and Bake Off stars charging £50 for 2-minute birthday message
When it’s your birthday you usually get messages from friends, family, colleagues and the odd random acquaintance.
The message is usually a selfless gesture to make you feel special on your birthday.
But some celebrities are making a profit from offering recordings of birthday messages for up to £70 for a few sentences.

The celebrity recording app, Memmo, allows stars to charge punters for a birthday message of their choice. You can also request anniversary and Christmas gift messages.
Those on the platform include reality stars, sports stars, actors and online personalities.

Former EastEnders stars involved include Nina Wadia, who played Zainab Masood, Sid Owen (Ricky Butcher) and Rita Simons (Roxy Mitchell).
Nina Wadia is the highest charging out of the EastEnders bunch and a birthday message from the soap actress will set you back £50.
Channel 4’s reality show, Married at First Sight, is also filled with TV personalities wanting to make a bit of extra dosh through their pre-recorded greetings.

Nine of this year’s UK contestants are signed up to start being paid for their recordings.
Infamously cheated on by his wife in the series Robert Voysey, may be trying to fix a broken heart with the £37.50 he is charging to simply wish someone a happy birthday.
Former Great British Bake Off contestant Dan Chambers might be selling himself short in comparison to his TV counterparts – he is only charging £10 for his best wishes.

Other notable mentions at the cheaper end of the scale are Emmerdale actors Joe Plant (Jacob Gallagher) and Roise Bentham (Gabby Thomas), who are both charging under £30.
Other users of the Memmo platform are Robbie Fowler, Gary Lineker’s brother Wayne Lineker and chaser Darragh ‘the menace’ Ennis.
