Foran ‘not great’ after limping off in Tigers clash
The Gold Coast Titans are sweating on the results of scans on prized recruit Kieran Foran’s knee after he limped off in pain against the Wests Tigers.
The star off-season recruit, who enjoyed a strong pre-season, limped off in the 55th minute and did not return in his team’s 22-10 win at Leichhardt Oval.
Following the match, Titans coach Justin Holbrook admitted the 32-year-old was “not great” when asked about his condition.

“His knee is sort of swollen up but I don’t think is the major one, which is good,” he said.
“I think the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) is OK, so it’s more maybe the PCL (posterior cruciate ligament), the back one.
“Not sure till he gets scans, but we know how good he’s been for us in pre-season.
“So, you know, we’re hoping to get him back quickly.”

Foran refused to comment on whether he would be available for the Titans’ round two clash with the Dragons, but said he would “be all right”.
“Just took a run there mid-way through the second half and got chopped on my kneecap there,” he said.
“I got up and it was feeling not so good, so I’ll just get it assessed and go from there. I’ll see (about next week).
Speedy Doueihi try keeps Tigers in the hunt
“Obviously I had to come off and I wasn’t able to run there.”
It was an impressive first outing in 2023 for Holbrook’s men, who scored four tries to two to overcome the Tigers in front of a raucous crowd.
The Titans scored three four-pointers in the first half as Phillip Sami registered a double, while Sam McIntyre also crossed over.
The Tigers briefly threatened a comeback through tries to Adam Doueihi and Daine Laurie, but had their hopes snuffed out by AJ Brimson’s 69th-minute try.
