Florence Pugh almost spills out of dress as stars ‘walk out’ of London premiere

Ahead of the actor’s strike, Florence Pugh turned heads as she took to the red carpet in an eye-catching dress with a plunging neckline.

The actress stepped out at London’s premiere of Oppenheimer on Thursday night in a billowing deep orange gown from Valentino’s couture collection.

The 27-year-old’s attire featured layers of pleated fabric that fell into a dramatic train.

The skirt portion of the dress connected to a ruched, diamond-shaped middle section and the design then moved into two cut-outs placed on either side as well as a plunging halter top.

She paired the dress with a pair of platform black heels and a pair of gold heels.

The on-screen star rocked an orange buzzcut as she opted for light makeup to accentuate her features, including a matte burgundy lip and a light blush to accentuate her cheekbones.

Florence was joined on the red carpet by an A-list cast including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr just to name a few.

Her appearance comes after the US actors union Sag-Aftra announced its first major members strike in over 40 years.

However, just moments into the event at the Odeon in Leicester Square, director Christopher Nolan explained that the star-studded line-up had left.

In front of the audience, Nolan said: “You’ve seen them here earlier on the red carpet. Unfortunately, they’re off to write their picket signs for what we believe to be an imminent strike by Sag, joining one of my guilds, the Writers Guild, in the struggle for fair wages for working members of the unions, and we support them.”

Before the movie started, Matt explained that he and his co-stars were walking out in “solidarity”.

Explaining to Variety, he said that once the strike was officially called, they were “going to walk obviously in solidarity”.

He went on to say: “That’s why we moved this [red carpet] up because we know the second it’s called, we’re going home.”

The Screen Actors Guild has gone on strike, marking the start of the largest shutdown Hollywood has seen in 40 years.

The union is also asking for a guarantee that artificial intelligence and computer-generated faces and voices will not be used to replace actors.

The beginning of the strike will mean that a vast majority of US film and TV productions will be forced to stop, adding to a list of projects that have already shut down or stalled because of the writer’s strike.

Several top Hollywood stars have expressed their support for a strike, including Barbie actor Margot Robbie, Meryl Streep and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson.
