CHESSINGTON World of Adventures Resort is opening a new land next month – Shipwreck Coast.

Opening on July 15, the land has been designed to look like a disaster-ridden town.

In Barrel Bail Out, guests will be whizzed around in barrels trapped in a whirlpool that they have to empty of water.

The new rides sit alongside Seastorm, with its spinning miniature galleons, and the Blue Barnacle.

The land takes inspiration from coastal harbour towns with nautical themes such as lighthouses, boats, sails, fishing nets and anchors.

Kevin McIlmurray, Head of Guest Experience said: “Our team have taken the much-loved Pirates’ Cove land and transformed it into this incredible harbour town, Shipwreck Coast.”

Before this, the most recent new ride was Crop Drop, which opened at the theme park last year.

The attraction drops riders from 25m in the air, where they are met at the bottom by the jaws of a “cursed crocodile” called Sobek, who is the ancient Egyptian Crocodile God.

Tickets start from £39 per person and under threes get in free.

Or, make a proper break of it and stay overnight, now that that summer has arrived.

Chessington has brought back its glamping breaks, with deals on mid-week stays from £65pp this summer.

They include an overnight stay, entry to the park, zoo and SEA LIFE Centre, as well as access to the Savannah splash pool.

You’ll get proper beds to sleep on – a double bed for the grown ups and two single beds for the kids.

The tents are also equipped with free WiFi and power sockets so you can charge up all your devices.

And in the morning, you can enjoy a continental breakfast before heading to the parks.

You also get Early Ride Time – that means no queues on selected rides between 9am and 10am.
