Final Fantasy XVI PlayStation 5 Bundle Announced; Includes Special Dualsense and Plate Designs in JP and Asia

A new PlayStation 5 bundle for interested players was announced by Sony earlier today. This new bundle also comes in the form of a special edition controller and plates, and the game the whole bundle is themed after, Final Fantasy XVI. The bundle will be available for pre-order in May, and some of its special features will be available only for a limited time.

Information regarding this upcoming bundle has been a bit sparse. However, it all started earlier today, with Sony announcing this special bundle through its official Twitter page. You can see the announcement below:

As you can see, this special console edition will be available on June 22. However, while this special bundle might not look like much, an announcement made in PlayStation Japan has shown that this console will come in a limited form and include a custom design for both its controller and the removable plates. The Japanese PlayStation blog states that this console edition will only be distributed to Japanese audiences.

The announcement was made by Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan-Asia and it includes the following price schemes.

• PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Final Fantasy XVI Bundle – 56,980 yen
• DualSense Wireless Controller Final Fantasy XVI Limited Edition – 8,980 yen

The special design cover and plates will be available for both the digital and disc editions of the PS5 console. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like this special edition with unique designs will be made available anywhere besides Japan and Asia. Of course, this could very well be part of an upcoming reveal by the time pre-orders for the North America and Europe editions of the console get announced.

The bundle, as you might imagine, will include both the console and the controller alongside a digital code for Final Fantasy XVI. The Japanese PS5 bundle is stated to cost 67,980 yen (Roughly $508 USD), so we can expect this bundle to cost $549.99 in North America. Pre-orders for the Final Fantasy XVI PlayStation 5 bundle will open on May 4. Final Fantasy XVI will be available on June 22.
