Kishore Kumar has won the award 8 times

All his life and illustrious career, Kishore Kumar defied any kind of pigeonholing. Considered to be one of the greatest Indian artistes, he had amazing command over playback singing; made yodelling look easy; and, when on stage, captivated his audience with his livewire performance. Yet, this creative genius was much more than that. He was an incomparable comedian, music composer, producer, writer, lyricist and director. Famously unpredictable, he was known for his quirky behaviour and pranks. Kishore Kumar got his first Filmfare award in the year 1970 for the song Roop Tera Mastana in 1969. The song is written by Anand Bakshi and music composed by Sachin Dev Burman. He then went to win awards for Dil Aisa Kisine Mera Toda (1975), O Khaike Paan Banaraswala (1978), Hazaar Rahen Mudke Dekhin (1980), Pag Ghungroo Bandh (1982), Agar Tum Na Hote (1983), Manzilein Apni Jagah (1984) and Saagar Kinare (1985). 

Mohammed Rafi has won the award 6 times

Mohammed Rafi, one of the best playback singers ever born in India, is regarded as nothing less than a genius when it comes to a variety of musical genres. Thousands of soulful songs were produced by this amazing singer because she possessed the ideal combination of melody, emotions, and passion. Muhammad Rafi treated each song with the respect it deserved, whether they were the foot-tapping songs of Kashmir Ki Kali or the classically inclined songs of Baiju Bawara. He has made an incredible contribution to the Hindi film business, and possibly no other singer has ever been able to win over audiences the way Mohamed Rafi has.Rafi was renowned for his versatility since he sang a variety of songs, including qawwalis, ghazals, bhajans, and patriotic as well as classical and patriotic songs, sorrowful as well as romantic. Rafi was the most sought-after singer in the Hindi cinema industry for almost twenty years. He won six Filmfare Awards during the course of his remarkable career. Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960), Chashme Buddoor (1961), Chahunga Main Tujhe Saanjh Savere (1964), Baharaon Phool Barsao Mere Mehboob Aaya Hai (1966), Dil Ke Jharoke Mein Tujhko Bitha Ke (1968), Kya Hua Tera Vaada (1977).

Arijit Singh has the won 6 times

There are celebrities, and then there is Arijit Singh defying the norms. The singer’s soulful music is a magical touch to any Bollywood movie. The singer has blessed the industry with powerful songs that connect with the audiences on a deeper level. The songs carry with them a myriad of emotions, and for the same reason, he has become the heartthrob of Bollywood.  Arijit made his debut in Bollywood with the song Phir Mohabbat from Murder 2, followed by Raabta in Agent Vinod and both the songs went on to become massive hits. He has some of the most romantic numbers to his name and his live concerts are something his fans swear by. Kumar Sanu has won the award 5 times

With his honey-dipped voice on the top-charting soundtrack of Aashiqui in 1990, Kumar Sanu, who was raised in a musical household in Bengal, enchanted listeners all around the country. The singer went on to rule for a decade, becoming the voice of love, heartache, and redemption. Kumar Sanu’s voice served as a cure-all for a generation of listeners in the 1990s. Saajan, Baazigar, 1942: A Love Story, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Akele Hum Akele Tum, and Coolie No 1 are just a few of the popular films with Sanu’s music featured on the soundtracks in the 1990s. Other popular films include Akele Hum Akele Tum and Coolie No 1. He has won the award for Ab Tere Bin (1990), Mera Dil Bhi (1991), Sochenge Tumhe (1992), Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen (1993) and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha (1994). 

Udit Narayan has won the award 5 times

Udit Narayan was Kumar Sanu’s main competition for the title of most popular male playback vocalist in Indian cinema until the 1990s, which is no small accomplishment considering that films are still the main means of introducing popular music to the Indian people. In the music-driven film industry, Narayan had one of the most distinctive voices and innovative singing styles. People have been spellbound by Udit Narayan’s beautiful and passionate voice for three decades. His melodies will live on in the hearts of all music lovers for countless generations thanks to his talent to sing in 32 different languages. He has won the Filmfare award for Best Playback singer (Male) 5 times namely for Papa Kehte Hain (1988), Mehndi Lagake Rakhna (1995), Pardesi Pardesi (1996), Chand Chupa Badal Mein (1999) and Mitwa (2001).
