Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kenny Golladay affecting Week 6 rankings

It wasn’t a terrible injury week for pass-catchers, but a few key guys, including TE Travis Kelce, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, and WR Kenny Golladay, exited their games early. While the two wide receivers aren’t of the highest consequence to fantasy football owners, surely Kelce is as important as it gets. We have the latest injury updates on these receivers ahead of your Week 6 fantasy roster decisions.

Travis Kelce injury update

Kelce suffered what Andy Reid said was a stringer late in the Chiefs’ matchup with Buffalo. At first, it looked like he might have been concussed, which would make his status for Week 6 much more precarious. As it stands, we don’t expect his injury to be serious or cost him any games.

As always, Kelce is ranked as our No. 1 TE in standard and PPR leagues heading into a matchup with an awful Washington passing defense.

WEEK 6 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

JuJu Smith-Schuster injury update

UPDATE: As suspected, Smith-Schuster is out for the season after undergoing surgery on his injured shoulder.

Smith-Schuster has suffered numerous injuries this year, and in Week 5, he was knocked out early because of a shoulder injury. Smith-Schuster is headed to IR, and the Steelers fear he could miss the remainder of the season with the shoulder ailment. He’s been extremely unproductive thus far, so his loss probably won’t have a significant effect on your fantasy team.

Moving forward, you have to think Diontae Johnson and Najee Harris are going to get an absurd number of targets. Chase Claypool and James Washington (when healthy) should take more significant roles in the offense, as well, and you never know when the TEs will see an uptick in targets, too. For now, Claypool and Johnson are the only ones you can consider starting.

Kenny Golladay injury update

The injury bug has reared its ugly head for Golladay once again, and this time it’s a knee issue. He’s already dealt with hamstring, hip, and groin issues during his short time with New York, so another lower-body injury is surely concerning. We’ll be monitoring updates on his status, but his future availability is unknown at this time.

He’s been just the third-best WR for New York this year, as Kadarius Toney has looked dynamic the past two weeks. Sterling Shepard also started off strong before missing the last two weeks with a hamstring issue. All that said, if Golladay plays, we rank him as the WR35 in PPR and in standard leagues because of his TD upside.
