“Face 2 Face,” a talk show known for its community center format, is returning on air with Karla Estrada as its newest host.

TV network TV5 confirmed on its official Twitter page on Saturday, April 1, that the hit show will premiere on May 1, as new episodes will air from Monday to Friday at 11 a.m.

“Isang buwan na lang at magtatapatan na tayong muli, #Face2Face! Abangan ang OG TV5 program simula May 1, 11AM sa #GandangMorningsTV5,” its tweet read. (Just a month left before we face off again on ‘Face 2 Face.’ Keep posted for the original TV5 program starting on May 1 at 11 a.m.)

In a separate post, Estrada was announced as the show’s host. “Face 2 Face” was originally hosted by Amy Perez, who was also known as “Tyang Amy” from 2010 to 2012, until Gelli de Belen took over until 2012.

“Unresolved issues? Sasamahan ka ni Karla Estrada na solusyunan ‘yan! Abangan siya sa pagbabalik ng paborito nating TV5 program na #Face2Face, simula sa MAY 1,” TV5 said.

Estrada will be joined by actor and stand-up comedian Alex Calleja, as confirmed in another tweet.

“Face 2 Face” is said to take cues from the shows “The Jerry Springer Show” and “The Jeremy Kyle Show,” where guests express their arguments in front of the show’s peacekeepers or “tanods.”

The show, however, is seen as controversial by some netizens due to occasional altercations among guests, including the now infamous “Hampasan ng silya (throwing of chairs)” encounter in one episode.

Prior to “Face 2 Face,” Estrada was one of the hosts of the morning show “Magandang Buhay” with Melai Cantiveros and Jolina Magdangal before departing in 2022.  /ra
