Extreme Carnage: Riot Gives Venom Fans an Inevitable and Touching Reunion

Andi Benton, now bonded to a new symbiote known as Silence, reunites with mentor Flash Thompson in the pages of Extreme Carnage: Riot.

The upcoming Extreme Carnage: Riot one-shot features a reunion for fans of Agent Venom, as Flash Thompson shares a touching moment with Andrea “Andi” Benton.

Written by Alyssa Wong with art by Fran Galan, Extreme Carnage: Riot picks up after the events of Extreme Carnage: Lasher, which saw Andi grievously wounded and bonding with the remains of the symbiote Scream, who had been mixed with a sample of Anti-Venom. The result of the bond was an all-new symbiote form for Andi known as Silence.

Extreme Carnage: Riot opens with a concerned Flash asking a brooding Silence if he can speak with Andi. Despite seemingly smothering Andi’s thoughts and feelings with it enveloped her, the symbiote acquiesces, and Flash and Andi share a warm hug as they prepare for their next battle.

Andi Benton was originally Flash’s neighbor after his move to Philadelphia as Agent Venom in 2013’s Venom #31. The pair developed a mentor and mentee relationship after Andi discerned Flash’s true identity, and Flash saved Andi’s lift from the villain Jack O’Lantern by injecting her with his symbiote. Andi would go on to become the hero Mania until she bonded to the Scream symbiote during the events of 2019’s Absolute Carnage: Scream.

Extreme Carnage spins out of King in Black, which concluded with Eddie Brock as the new king of Marvel’s symbiotes. The series encompasses several one-shots, each focused on a different symbiote with ties to Carnage and Venom.
