Marvel Comics presents an exclusive preview of Immortal Hulk #50, by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett. The issue is the final in their run.
Marvel Comics has given CBR an exclusive preview of Immortal Hulk #50, by Al Ewing, Joe Bennett, Ruy José, Paul Mounts and VC’s Cory Petit . In the preview, journalist Jackie McGee figures out just why the Leader and the One Below All separated Bruce Banner from his Joe Fixit personality — and how.
Earlier in Immortal Hulk, the One Below All took over the Leader and used the genius to separate Bruce from the Hulk and his various other personalities. Then, Bruce and the Devil Hulk ended up in the Below-Place, a hell ruled by the One Below All. Now, the Savage Hulk and his allies have gone into the Below-Place to rescue Banner.
As for just how and why, McGee asks her Hulk if the Leader knew what he was doing right from the beginning, saying, “All of you, the Bruce Banner system — you’d need a Hulk without any gamma in him. Joe Fixit, in Banner’s body — waiting to be filled up with something else. The opposite of gamma. The Cosmic Ray Hulk, right when the system needed him.” While not necessarily confirmed by the Leader himself, this reasoning makes a lot of sense in the context of the book. The preview then concludes with Hulk preparing to face off against his enemies and retrieve his oldest ally.
