Everything you need to know before playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
CALL of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer releases today, and the lobbies are already full of people waiting to enter the fray.
Even if you’ve played a Call of Duty multiplayer before, there are quite a few changes in the latest game.
Modern Warfare 2 has a number of essential features and modes missing from launch, and a handful of problematic bugs.
There are also some general issues that players are running into with the new UI.

How to check K/D ratio and Combat Record in CoD: MW2
At launch there is no way to check your K/D ratio in MW2’s multiplayer as there is no Combat Record.
This is very likely to be patched in later, but you won’t be able to see it until this update.
How to play Hardcore in CoD: MW2
This is another key mode that is missing from MW2 multiplayer at the moment.
There are no Hardcore playlists at launch, though publisher Activision has confirmed that they will be added in the future.
How to unlock gold camo in CoD: MW2
Like in all Call of Duty games there are gold camo options for all the different ammo types.
You can unlock these by completing in-game challenges. Each weapon has their own series of these to play through.
There are four challenges to complete for each weapon type, and once you’ve completed them the final gold camo challenge will unlock.
How to fix the custom loadout locked bug in COD: MW2
If your custom loadout is locked in Modern Warfare II, check to make sure you’ve reached level 4.
This is the level at which is when custom loadouts become available.
If custom loadouts are still unavailable, you’ve run into a common bug.
This can be fixed by logging out of the game and, if that fails, restarting your system.
You should find the custom loadouts are unlocked when you return.
What is max level and what do you unlock in CoD: MW2?
The maximum level you can reach in CoD:MW2 multiplayer currently is 55.
You will be awarded the Juggernaut Killstreak when you reach this level.
It also comes with a minigun that you can use after the Juggernaut dies.
How to disable crossplay in CoD: MW2
Crossplay cannot currently be disabled for those playing MW2 on either Xbox or PC.
On PlayStation, crossplay can be disabled by following these steps:
- While in the game’s menu, press ‘Options’
- Press R1 three times to get over to the ‘Settings’ menu.
- Select ‘Account & Network’. The crossplay gameplay and communications options is at the top.
