Eurovision 2022 betting odds show surprise UK result after nul points last year
The grand final of Eurovision 2022 is only 11 days away and rehearsals are in full swing. The contest is taking place in Turin this year, after Italy won in 2021.
Singers Mika and Laura Pausini and Italian presenter Alessandro Cattelan have been chosen to host the 66th edition of Eurovision. Both semi-finals will be taking place on Tuesday, May 10, and Thursday, May 12. The best 20 songs will join the Big 5 countries – Germany, France, Italy, the UK and Spain – in the grand final which will take place the following Saturday.
And there are big hopes for Ukraine, with rap band Kalush Orchestra expected to win the competition. On the other hand, countries such as Montenegro, Denmark and Slovenia are not expected to do well this year. Here are the odds for Eurovision 2022.
What are the odds for Eurovision Song Contest this year?
Ukraine is the favourite to win Eurovision with odds of 4/6, according to SkyBet. Italy, which is the second favourite, sits at 4/1.
Sweden, the third favourite, has been given odds of 6/1 and the UK has odds of 10/1 to put it in a respectable fourth place. Spain completes the top five and sits with 18/1.
The UK’s contestant, Sam Ryder, from Essex, will be competing with his song called Space Man which he co-wrote with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Amy Wadge and Max Wolfgang, who have been involved in projects with Ed Sheeran and BTS. If he wins, it would be the UK’s first Eurovision victory since 1997.
