Escape to the Chateau’s Dick and Angel return to chateau after ‘time away’

Dick and Angel Strawbridge shared that they have arrived back at the chateau after a lovely trip away with their children: Arthur, 10, and Dorothy, nine.

Upon their return, the Escape to the Chateau stars shared a beautiful photograph from a wedding that was held in their French castle.

The black and white shot showed a beaming bride and groom posing in Dick and Angel’s winter garden conservatory at the back of their 19th-century chateau.

In the Instagram caption, the TV stars wrote: “Hello! We hope you are smiling and enjoying your summer.

“We are just back from a little time away building sandcastles and making memories, and had to share this recent wedding picture of Toli and Tim’s special day!

“Firstly, thank you Toli and Tim for being so fab and thank you Johnny for capturing the wonderfulness! Have a lovely day!”

Dozens of fans took to the comments section, with many praising the picturesque glass conservatory.

Karen wrote: “Stunning photo, such a beautiful room, one of my favourites. Such beautiful light in that room, I would imagine there was a happy little chirping going on whilst the pictures were being taken.”

Laura echoed: “This is beautiful! So glad you insisted on the white and black floor for this very reason!”

And Vicki praised: “What a stunning backdrop to a beautiful wedding photo. Many Congratulations on the occasion of your wedding Toli and Tim.”

Dick and Angel’s trip away comes after Channel 4 decided to cut ties with the couple following reports they had “clashed with producers”.

A foul-mouthed recording was also leaked of Angel berating producers of the hit series back in 2021.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster told Express.co.uk: “Following a review we have taken the decision to not work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.”

In May, Dick and Angel took to social media to address reports and say the end of Escape to the Chateau had been a “family decision”.

They wrote: “It was a Strawbridge Family decision early last year to conclude ‘Escape to the Chateau’, but we have loved every moment and, despite the many challenges, we refused to give up on our dream…

“We know there are lots of stories in the press right now. It’s not worth us even trying to comment or give context, because anything can be made into a good headline. We understand. There are two sides to every story and from the incredible support we have received, most of you know that.

“We are proud of who we are, and we feel we must do what we believe to be correct, that is in fact what kept Escape to the Chateau unique, and whilst we have indeed parted ways with Channel 4, we are hugely grateful to them and their teams for their support and creativity over the years.”
