Emraan Hashmi is glad he doesn’t get the ‘serial kisser’ roles anymore
In the early 2000, Emraan Hashmi had become a name synonymous with bold films. Infact within a few years into the industry the actor had earned the tag of being a serial kisser. But cut to 2021,Emraan has transformed himself as an actor.
Today Emraan Hashmi spoke to a leading daily and he’s thankfully relieved that he doesn’t get those offers anymore where the focus turns to his liplocks with the heroine. He also reasons out that today the cinema has changed and while back then a kiss garnered a lot of attention and was the boldest our movies could go, today with the rise of the OTT, the shock value is much more. He’s thankful that today the proposals he gets are what he wants to do, “The scripts offered to me right now are the kind of cinema I always wanted to do.”
He further adds in the interview to the daily, that it’s not just his potential that remains untapped… but every actor faces the same dilemma. “Every actor’s talent is untapped. You need a good director to bring out another side of you. You are only as good as the script and the director. If I have a mediocre movie, I will by default be mediocre in it. That said, you will see different facets of me in my upcoming films.” Well, we couldn’t agree that the kind of films Emraan Hashmi has been picking is surely changing the game for him.
Today, his next film Chehre hits the big screens. This is the first time Emraan Hashmi gets to work with Amitabh Bachchan with Chehre. He will even work for the first time with Salman Khan in Tiger 3. The actor plays the negative role in the film and will soon kickstart shooting for it.
