Emmerdale’s Liam Fox issues warning to viewers over ‘worrying’ storyline
Liam Fox’s character Dan Spencer has been at the heart of several big storylines since he joined Emmerdale in 2011.
The latest one sees Dan being charged with GBH after attacking his daughter’s stalker and sending him straight to intensive care.
A storyline which Liam told OK Magazine was “a huge worry”.
Trouble starts in the Dales when Dan catches Lloyd stalking his daughter Amelia. In a fit of rage, Dan punches Lloyd, leaving him with injuries so bad that he ends up being rushed to intensive care.
During his interview, Liam admits: “This could happen to anyone,
“He is incredibly protective of Amelia, and he wants to help her. He loses it.”
He also goes on to say that whilst Lloyd’s character isn’t creepy as viewers would imagine him to be, he is cocky, which enrages Dan even more.
Speaking more about the plot line he goes on to say: “Amelia has been influenced before with online stuff, so it is history repeating itself.
“The actor who plays Lloyd [Matt Sutton] is brilliant. He is incredibly convincing and when Lloyd is rushed to hospital, everyone is on a knife edge. You’ve no idea if the guy will survive or not.
Dan tries to get on with his life to a certain extent, but it’s a huge worry.”
Liam also shared how he hoped this current storyline might help raise awareness regarding the dangers of social media.
Also confessing that he no longer uses Twitter adding: “There are a lot of angry people out there, and I don’t use Twitter any more myself.”
He also took time to praise his on-screen daughter Amelia, played by Daisy Campbell, 19, who he’s worked with on the ITV soap since 2011.
Away from the decades-long show, Liam’s life is a little less dramatic.
He married his second wife JoJo in 2020 after first dating when he was a student at Salford University.
Before settling down with JoJo for the second time, Liam was married to ex-Hollyoaks actress Nicole Barber-Lane.
