Emmanuel Petit has urged his former club Arsenal to sign two players from Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Frenchman, who played for both Arsenal and Chelsea, feels there are two men who would be better suited at the Emirates than Stamford Bridge.

The Premier League season is currently on pause for the ongoing World Cup in Qatar but resumes on December 26 as the Gunners host West Ham before the Blues face Bournemouth the following day.

Mikel Arteta’s side sit top of the table and are five points clear of second-placed Manchester City while Graham Potter’s Chelsea are all the way down in eighth.

Both sides will have the chance to bring in some new faces when the January window opens as Petit told BoyleSports: ‘I’d love [N’Golo] Kante to go to Arsenal and I think he wants to stay in London, so they should take their chance.

‘I also think Barcelona want to sign him in January but he suits Arsenal and they need a player who has a winning mentality.

‘I’m surprised Chelsea do not want to give him a new contract but maybe they know something we don’t, perhaps a medical issue.

‘Anyway, any club would be lucky to have Kante – it’s Kante!

‘When you have guys like this – so humble and professional – you have to have leaders like this in the dressing room.’

Kante’s Chelsea contract is due to expire next summer and Petit has also told Arsenal to bring in Christian Pulisic due to his lack of game time at the Blues.

He added: ‘You could see with [Christian] Pulisic like he was playing with revenge at the World Cup.

‘He was so good for the USA and he deserves to play regularly at another club.

‘I think he’s the exact kind of player that Arsenal need. Now that Gabriel Jesus is out I think he’d be a great option.

‘Just like Hakim Ziyech, you can see his head is not with Chelsea right now and seeing them both miserable – they don’t deserve it.

‘Both players have played so well and I can see Milan probably want Ziyech and will bid for him in January.’
