Emma Raducanu’s ex-coach Sebastian Sachs has broken his silence after the tennis star parted ways with him on Thursday after less than six months.

The injured 20-year-old is now seeking her sixth coach in two years and there are fears that some of the best in the sport may be put off by her high turnover.

Raducanu, who won the 2021 US Open as a qualifier, is currently absent from the ongoing French Open and will miss Wimbledon as she recovers from surgery.

Sachs is just the latest coach Raducanu has dumped after she also parted ways with Dmitry Tursunov, Torben Beltz, Andrew Richardson and Nigel Sears.

‘I have really enjoyed Seb’s coaching and working with him,’ British star Raducanu said.

‘It’s unfortunate that circumstances made it unfeasible for both of us to continue right now and we have decided to part ways. I wish Seb all the best moving forwards.’

The German has now opened up about his split with Raducanu as he told Eurosport: ‘It’s a pity, of course, because I like Emma and we worked very well together on the court.

‘But unfortunately, difficult situations led to difficult conversations and finally we came to this decision.

‘I wish her a speedy recovery and hope to see her back on the court in top form soon.’

Raducanu could potentially turn to Serena Williams’ former coach Rick Macci next – who has publicly expressed his desire to work with the youngster.
