Emily MacDonagh insists her husband Peter Andre is still ‘young at heart’ as he approaches his 50th birthday.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker turned 49 last month and as the major milestone approaches next year, his partner – who turns 33 in August – has brushed off the age gap.

Writing in her column for OK! magazine, she said: ‘He will be 50 next year and it feels like he’s had this big build-up to it, as he’s been talking about turning 50 for the past five years!

‘To me, it means nothing how old someone is. Age is only a number and Pete doesn’t look 50. He’s also very young at heart.

‘He’s lucky he has such good genes as he’s spent a lot of his life in the sun, which is very ageing!’

Emily revealed they had ‘amazing chef’ Nisha Parmar – a 2018 MasterChef semi-finalist, no less – come to the house to cook them an amazing seven course meal for Peter’s special day.

She said all the kids – Peter has Junior, 16 and Princess, 12, with ex-wife Katie Price, while he and Emily have Millie, seven, and Theo, five, together – joined them, but the two youngest struggled to get through all seven dishes.

And Peter’s wife treated him to ‘some bits and bobs’, although she insisted she never goes ‘over the top with presents’.

She also joked about his youthful complexion, and suggested he could look even younger if he’d taken better care of his skin.

She quipped: ‘I always say to him, “Imagine if you hadn’t sunbathed like you had, you’d probably look like a teenager now!”

‘He also used to wear oil in the sun and only began using sun cream when he met me. But better late than never, I think!’

He’s still looking fantastic, and Emily admitted they are now looking forward to a ‘really memorable’ celebration for his 50th next February.

‘Jokes aside, neither of us are worried about him turning 50,’ she said. ‘And [we] are trying to plan something really memorable to do as a family.’
