Eels star condemns fans after ‘upsetting’ departure
Parramatta Eels halfback Mitchell Moses has revealed his frustration with the fans that chose to abuse Jakob Arthur during his time at the club after the 20-year-old completed an immediate switch to Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.
Arthur signed with the club until the end of the 2024 season on Monday and will join the full-time squad from Tuesday.
The son of coach Brad Arthur has faced enormous criticism since he rose to the first grade ranks, debuting in 2021.

Amidst news the young half was leaving the club, Moses hit out at fans for the treatment.
“I don’t think any player should be booed from their own home team … it’s upsetting to see because he’s such a great kid and puts so much time into his game,” he told media.
“To see people go at him that way, it’s pretty sad to see.”
Arthur has played 20 first grade games since making his debut, and will be a handy addition for Manly with Daly Cherry-Evans set to be unavailable for a number of games through Origin.

Manly coach Anthony Seibold welcomed his new signing.
“Jake adds depth to our squad, particularly in the halves. We feel he also has got the ability to be a ball playing forward with his size and defensive capabilities,” he said.

“Jake comes with great pedigree having played in last year’s NRL grand final and having come through the Parramatta system as an elite junior.
“This is an opportunity for Jake to experience different coaches, different club environment, and he adds to the depth of our program, particularly with 10 players currently unavailable out of our top 30 for this weekend’s game.”
The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting Arthur could debut for the club this Friday against the Knights.
