eBay down as thousands of UK and US users report problems with website and app

THOUSANDS of global eBay users are major experiencing issues with the e-commerce website.

According to DownDetector over 1,500 customers in the UK and 1,215 in the US have reported issues with the website and slow loading times.

Replying to one customer on Twitter, an eBay spokesperson said: “Thanks for flagging with us! Others are reporting the same issue with searches and we have escalated to IT. Thanks for your patience while we get this resolved.”

The firm has not provided a reason for the website outage.

The Sun has approached eBay for comment.

    Replying to one customer they said: “This seems to be an emerging site issue, we have reported this to our Tech Teams who will try to resolve this ASAP.

    One user said: “@AskeBay is eBay down? Nothing is loading up for me or my auctions…”

    A second commented: “eBay is down. @eBay that’s gotta be frustrating for people with auctions ending.”

    A third moaned: “ebay down, searches turning up zero results.”

    Thousands of customers across the globe appear to be having issues.

    Over 1,000 US problems have been reported.

    Main areas with issues include New York and Los Angeles.

    DownDetector has received just under 2,000 reported issues.

    Taking to Twitter an eBay spokesperson said in response to a customer: “Thanks for flagging with us! Others are reporting the same issue with searches and we have escalated to IT. Thanks for your patience while we get this resolved.”
