EastEnders characters you may have forgotten who owned the Queen Vic
The iconic Queen Vic pub is undeniably the heart and soul of Albert Square.
It is the place that many of Walford’s residents flock to for almost all occasions and the grounds, for which there have been more than a few bombshell moments on the soap.
The East End pub has a long-running history of landlords and landladies all of whom added their own unique touch to how it was run.

From Pat Butcher to The Carters – here we take a look at the previous and current owners of The Queen Vic.
Den and Angie Watts
When EastEnders first aired back in 1985, the occupants of the pub were none other than Den and Angie Watts.
The couple’s marriage was far from smooth-sailing as Angie struggled with her drinking problem, which strained their relationship.
It clearly got too much for Den who had just about enough and filed for divorce. He savagely handed the papers to Angie in the pub that they considered their livelihood. Ouch!

Frank Butcher and Pat Harris
Soon after Den and Angie’s ownership of the pub, Frank Butcher and his girlfriend Pat Harris became managers of the establishment in 1988.
However, their reign was short-lived after being unable to keep the beloved boozer afloat financially due to dealing with debts.
The loved-up pair managed the pub for just two years.
Eddie Royle
Next comes Eddie Royle who owned the pub in 1990 before he met a gruesome end.
Eddie proved he had a kind heart after renting out a room to barmaid Sharon Watts.
Sadly, the landlord suffered a terrible fate when he was stabbed to death by nasty Nick Cotton while walking his pet poodle Roly.
Dan Sullivan
Dan Sullivan become the co-owner of the East End pub when Phil Mitchell offered up his share.
With Phil unable to get his drinking problem under control, he handed over his half, which he’d also done to get back at his mum.
Phil eventually reclaimed his share of the pub from Dan after a game of cards.
Steve Owen
Tough guy Steve Owen took ownership of The Queen Vic back in 2001.
Steve was revealed as Sharon’s business partner when she bought the pub back off debt-ridden Peggy.
But Steve was eventually forced to sell his stake back to the Mitchells when his wife Mel was in danger because of them.
Chrissie Watts
A few years later, Chrissie become the pub landlady in 2004.
It was a dream come true for Chrissie who’d made the pub her own – that was before things quickly took a turn for the worse.
In a shocking scene that has gone down in soap history, she’d forcefully hit Den over the head with an iron doorstep before secretly burying his body.
Soon after, she’d fled leaving The Queen Vic in Ian Beale’s hands.
Ian Beale
Ian owned the pub for a short period after Chrissie’s departure.
Unfortunately, his ownership of the pub was ripped away from him when Chrissie admitted to faking Den’s signature on the documents after bumping Den off.
Roxy Mitchell
Archie’s death left the pub in the hands of his daughter Roxy.
But after a few months of struggling with the reigns, Roxy admitted she wasn’t up to the job and handed the pub back to Peggy.
