Duncan Scott makes history as first Brit to win FOUR medals at a single Olympic Games

The 24-year-old, from Glasgow, won gold in the men’s 4x200m relay. He also won silver medals in the 200m freestyle, the 200m individual medley and in the 4x100m medley relay.

He now has six medals overall, including silver medals in the 4x200m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay at Rio in 2016.

On the way to his historic four medals, Scott beat the tally of teammates Adam Peaty and James Guy, who claimed two gold medals and a silver each at Tokyo 2020.

Max Whitlock, competing at the Rio Olympics in 2016, won three medals: two gold and a bronze.

He claimed gold in the individual floor exercise and in the pommel horse, and bronze in the men’s all-round event.

Jason Kenny took gold in the men’s team sprint, the individual sprint and in the Keirin at the 2016 Games.

At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Sir Chris Hoy claimed gold in the men’s team sprint, the Keirin and the individual sprint.

For his fourth medal in the men’s 4x100m medley relay, collected around midday Tokyo time, Scott swam the final leg in an epic race.

Great Britain were pipped by the USA as both nations dominated the race.
